All of our larger renewable energy sources are solar ready so you can connect your solar photovoltaic cell. The results from the assessment of the electrical grid, following the 2003 blackout of Eastern North America, revealed major deficiencies. Our supply of electricity is not as secure as we had expected. Power outages are more frequent and the duration of blackouts is increasing. The problems with our electricity infrastructure have prompted calls for conservation from all levels of government and the utility industry. In Ontario, Canada the provincial government is in the process of implementing three new programs.

Smart Meters: These meters will record usage and time of day so consumers will have the ability to modify their electrical usage to off peak, lower priced electricity.

Net Metering: This program gives consumers the ability to supply renewable energy source power back to the grid and gain a credit against usage from the grid.

Standard Offer Program: This program allows consumers to directly supply renewable energy source to the grid and receive payment for the alternate energy source power supply.

During a power failure or blackout, the "Garage Door Mate" automatically switches to battery mode and gives you up to 20 open and close operations. When grid power is restored the "Garage Door Mate" automatically recharges its batteries and within 24 hours your alternative energy source is ready for the next blackout.

Our "Pump Mate" operates the same way. Simply plug in your "Pump Mate", plug your sump pump into the back of the "Pump Mate" and your sump pump will operate normally. During a power failure your "Pump Mate" will use its batteries to supply power to your sump pump automatically, whether you are home or not. A clear advantage over portable generators. The duration of this supply depends upon the number of times your sump pump is called to operate and the size of "Pump Mate" you choose.

You may require the "Pump Mate Plus" for up to 1 HP motors.
